Short-term Assistance: impacted households seeking assistance with housing costs, food, clothing, and personal care needs, may contact:
Panhandle Community Services (PCS)

TDHCA is working in coordination with PCS to make available up to $1.2 million of federal Community Services Block Grant funds in assistance. Income-eligible households must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. For a family of four that would mean household annual income at or below $62,400 to qualify.
Relocation/Housing: impacted households seeking to relocate and find affordable housing may visit TDHCA’s website and use the Help for Texans feature:
https://www.tdhca.texas.gov/help-for-texans
Until a federal disaster declaration is made, households seeking to move to an affordable housing development in TDHCA’s portfolio, will have to sign a six-month lease at a minimum and attest to being income eligible (at or below 60% of the Area Median Family Income). Once a federal disaster declaration is made, households will still be required to sign at least a six-month lease but no income qualification is necessary. Please be advised that due to federal funding sources some rental communities may have more strict criteria regarding income qualification. Each rental community may have additional leasing criteria.
The State of Texas has an online portal of information and resources for those affected by the Texas wildfires. You may access that portal at this address: https://tdem.texas.gov/disasters/24-0001-feb-wildfires
