Program Details/Overview
The Single Family Development (SFD) Program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME Program or HOME). SFD provides funds for the new construction of affordable single family homes. Single family homes built with the assistance of HOME funds must comply with required income restrictions and follow certain design requirements. Homes must be sold to lower income homebuyers after completion of construction. TDHCA provides permanent financing to qualified households if needed.
Programs
TDHCA contracts with units of general local governments, public housing authorities, local mental health authorities, and nonprofit entities that provide affordable housing to lower income families in their local communities. Applicants must be familiar with Program rules and Regulations.

Program Beneficiaries must have a household income that does not exceed 80% of Area Median Family Income (AMFI) who are seeking assistance in buying a home.
