TDHCA is releasing a draft of the 2027 Annual Public Housing Authority (PHA) Plan for public comment which begins at 8:00 a.m. Central Time on Friday, March 27, 2026, and ends at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

TDHCA is holding a 31-day public comment period on its draft 2026 State of Texas Consolidated Plan: One-Year Action Plan (the Plan) from April 17, 2026, to May 17, 2026.

TDHCA is opening a public comment period on its draft 2027 Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) State Plan from April 24, 2026, through May 15, 2026. The draft Plan describes the proposed use and distribution of LIHEAP funds for 2027. LIHEAP provides funding for the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).

TDHCA announces a rule action relating to 10 TAC Section 10.1204 Audit Requirements. This action was approved by the TDHCA Governing Board on April 9, 2026, and will be released for public comment and returned to the Board for final adoption. The rule action, including the preamble, are expected to be published in the Texas Register edition for April 24, 2026. The published version will constitute the official version for purposes of public comment and can be found at https://www.sos.texas.gov/texreg/index.shtml.

TDHCA seeks stakeholder input on several of its rules. The Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office (TREO) is required to coordinate with state agencies to review agency rules and recommend potential amendments to, or repeals of, those rules. On April 27, 2026, TREO released a draft Regulatory Efficiency Review (RER) report of possible regulatory changes TDHCA could make to improve efficiency in some of its rules. The report can be found on the TDHCA website's Public Comment Center. The recommendations in the report are not mandates or directives, but rather ideas and opportunities for improvement. TREO has requested TDHCA share these ideas with stakeholders for a 14-day period in order to garner feedback. Public feedback on the recommendations in the report will be accepted from April 30, 2026, through May 14, 2026.

TDHCA's Multifamily Compliance staff will present Office Hours and A Discussion about Rule Changes, live online, on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Central Time.

TDHCA will hold a public hearing in Austin to receive public comment on 2026 Competitive Housing Tax Credit applications received in Texas Uniform State Service Regions 7, 9, 11, and 13, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, beginning at 3:00 PM Central Daylight Time.
