As part of the public comment period for the Draft 2026 State of Texas Low Income Housing Plan and Annual Report (SLIHP), TDHCA is holding a public hearing at 2:00 p.m. Central Time on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Stephen F. Austin Building, Room 172, at 1700 N Congress Ave, in Austin, TX 78701.

The SLIHP public comment period runs Friday, January 16, 2026, through 5 p.m., Central Time, on Monday, February 16, 2026. The SLIHP offers a comprehensive reference on statewide housing needs, housing resources, and strategies for funding allocations. It reviews TDHCA's housing programs, current and future policies, resource allocation plans to meet state housing needs, and reports on performance during the preceding state fiscal year (September 1, 2024, through August 31, 2025). 

Anyone may submit comments on the SLIHP in written form or oral testimony at the public hearing. Written comments may be submitted to Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Attn: Housing Resource Center, P.O. Box 13941, Austin, Texas 78711-3941, by email to the following address: info@tdhca.texas.gov. 

The full text of the Draft 2026 SLIHP and its associated Rule may be viewed on the Department's website at https://www.tdhca.texas.gov/tdhca-public-comment-center. The public may also receive a copy of the Draft 2026 SLIHP by contacting TDHCA's Housing Resource Center at (512) 475-3976.
