Released: April 17, 2024
News Category Spotlight Article

Amid the sprawling oaks on the boundaries of downtown Waco, residents are celebrating the next chapter of their lives at the newly renovated Riverside Apartments. TDHCA supported the rehabilitation efforts through its 4% Housing Tax Credit Program, awarding $1.1 million in tax credits to help renovate the 152-unit property. The value of HTCs are worth an approximate value of $11 million over the 10-year term.

“This is a revival of pride for a community,” said Waco Councilwoman, Andrea Barefield. “It’s the voice of residents that matter and helped restore dignity to this property and their homes.”

City of Waco leaders, the Waco Housing Authority, TDHCA, the Monroe Group, Steele Properties, and many other partners took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 17.

“This was a huge effort,” said Waco Housing Authority’s Milet Hopping. “Preservation of affordable housing is very important to the City of Waco.”

Riverside Apartments is located at 1700 Dallas Circle in Waco. For more information about the property, please call (254) 708-0101 or visit https://www.monroegroup.com/property/riverside-apartments/
