Seeking a Manufactured Housing Division License for the first time? Information for new license applicants

Steps for becoming licensed and obtaining fingerprints

Licensing Education Class Registration Information

New salespeople must complete the Licensing Education Course (LEC) and pass the state licensing exam within the Provisional licensing period (90 days). All other license types must complete the required class(es) and send the certificate with their application.

Prospective licensees can enroll in the LEC either online, or by paper mail-in form. Whether you mail the form or register online, links to the class will be sent to the email provided on the form when you register.

New salespeople may provide a hard copy of the LEC enrollment with their application, or they may also register for the class online. New salespeople are required to complete the course AND pass the exam with PSI Exams with 90 days of becoming licensed. If the course is not completed by new salespeople within 90 days of their issuance date, their Provisional license suspends, and they can no longer engage in retail activities including, but not limited to selling or showing homes, or discussing pricing with potential customers. All other license types besides Salespeople MUST complete the LEC classes and exams before applying for their license, and include the certificate with their application.

Please note: Licensing Education Classes are NOT the same as the Continuing Education Classes, and one may NOT be substituted for the other.

Once you have registered and paid (whether online or paper mail-in), the link to the course will be emailed to you within 2-3 business days of the department receiving your enrollment. The email with the link will be from sender ‘Manufactured Housing Division.’ The course(s) and exam(s) are self-paced and all online, although exams can also be taken in person at an approved testing location. Exams are proctored by PSI exams (a third party), and we strongly recommend that salespeople give a minimum of 2-4 weeks to complete the course and take the exams, in case unforeseen circumstances occur.
